Our Mission

A.S.K. offers Taekwondo, Baseball, Soccer, Bowling, Basketball, and Fishing across our partner locations: Doornbos Rec Center and R.L. Bob Harmon Park in Nederland, TX. All programs are free for every athlete, every season.

What We Do

We offer a range of sports — including Taekwondo, Baseball, Soccer, Bowling, Basketball and Fishing — held at our partner facilities: Doornbos Rec Center (2301 Ave H, Nederland TX) and R.L. Bob Harmon Park (3300 Park Dr., Nederland TX). All participation comes at no cost. We also offer text-message alerts for game times, cancellations and updates. Founded to fill a gap in accessible sports for kids in Southeast Texas, ASK has grown into a vibrant community where children of all abilities can play, compete, make friends and build confidence.

City of Nederland, TX

Adaptive Sports for Kids, Inc. has partnered with the City of Nederland to bring these sporting activities to our players. The City has granted promession for A.S.K. to utilizes the facilities at Doornbos Park and the R.L. Bob Harman Park which houses the Babe Ruth League and Adaptive Sports for Kids in Nederland 3300 Park Drive.

Our Dream

Our long-term vision is to build our own handicap accessible Sports Arena — complete with a baseball field, indoor gym and concession stand — where children of all abilities can thrive. Adaptive Sports For Kids

Research shows that adaptive physical activity can boost confidence, social-skills, physical health and overall well-being for children with disabilities. At ASK, every child plays, every child is seen, every child matters.
